The Black Barn, as it is now known, formed part of a parcel of land which the farm acquired in 2011. At that time it was rather dilapidated, but in its heyday it had been used as a storage shed for the local Scout group and in a strange twist of fate had even been used to “hide” Jon’s parents’ wedding car while they had their wedding reception at The Woolpack in 1968 so that no pranksters could find it and “decorate” it.

Sadly during particularly high winds in 2014 a large sycamore tree came down and caused significant damage to the barn.
It was at that point that the barn had a complete rebuild and since then it has been used as domestic storage space.

We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of England and wanted others to experience all that this remarkable area has to offer.
Planning permission was sought and approved to convert the barn to a holiday let in August 2020. Since then the barn has undergone its latest transformation, which we hope you will agree is a perfect amalgamation of all the modern amenities you would wish to find in a stay away from home with the rustic feel of oak carpentry, country-style furnishings and the cosy warmth of a log burner for the winter months.
