Travelling on the A271 from the East
Upon entering the village you will pass a variety of commercial buildings including a coffee shop and beauty salon on your left and a French restaurant, general store/Post Office on your right, continuing past a bake shop and pub until you reach a mini roundabout. Take the second exit onto West End, then turn immediately right into Bagham Lane. After approximately 110m the road bears round to the left into Fairfield but keep straight on and you will arrive at an electric gate. The Black Barn can be found immediately after the gate on your right.
Travelling on the A271 from the West
Having passed the petrol station on your right you will enter the village passing the pharmacy, doctors surgery and village hall on your right, followed by the fire station on your left. You will then reach the mini roundabout as described above at which point you should take the first exit and then immediately turn right into Bagham Lane. Continue directions as above.
Travelling in from the North West – Stunts Green/West End
If you find yourself entering the village from this direction, you will be on a minor road passing through the area of Stunts Green which becomes West End as you enter the village of Herstmonceux. Continue almost to the end of this road and just before the mini roundabout mentioned above, you will turn left into Bagham Lane and can then continue as directions in the first paragraph.

Travelling by Train
If you are planning for part of your journey to be by train then use https://www.thetrainline.com to find the best route to either Polegate Station (Southern Rail) or Battle Station (South Eastern) which are the two closest railway stations to The Black Barn. Both are approximately a 20 minute drive.
